Is Time Working for You or Against You?

I read a story the other day of one of the most beautiful sights a person can be blessed to witness. The person relating it said “It looked as though someone had taken a great vat of gold and poured it down over the mountain peak and slopes where it had run into every crevice and over every rise.” She was looking at the majestic and glorious sight of daffodils; The Daffodil Garden.
The garden had over 35 varieties of daffodils and they were planted in patterns to create the most spectacular effects. She had so many questions and wanted to know how it had happened. She did; each daffodil had been planted one bulb at a time, 50,000 of them, by one woman alone, for more than 35 years.
You might be aware that daffodils only bloomed for about 3 weeks each year, during springs. It was a work of true love and passion. The lady of the daffodils wanted to share her vision of beauty to the world. The fact that it was going to take 35 years and could only be enjoyed for 3 weeks each year did not deter her commitment.
Is Time Working for You or Against You?
What were you doing 35 years ago, 3 years ago, or 35 days ago? What could you have accomplished if you had started then? Did you put time at work for you or did you put it to work against you?
Many of us never start anything because we are impatient of the time it will take to build it. Sometimes we start, but when results don’t happen right away, we get discouraged and give up. We forget that time will pass and will bring us the compounded effects of our actions or our inaction.
I am certain that the daffodil lady did not see anything breathtaking after 1 year, or even after 5 years. She did not need to; she could see it in her mind and she knew that if she kept planting one bulb everyday, time will work for her and it won’t be long before she could it with her eyes.
Time always seem long when we are looking forward. What you need to remember is that it always looks very short when we look backwards. The next time it seems like forever, ask your self, how many years is forever, and look back to see what you were doing that number of years back. It will seem like yesterday.
