Email is becoming the preferred method of communication. It is usually also the best way for you to build a relationship with your prospects and remind them to visit your website.

The bad news is that your prospects are saturated with emails and have become very smart and selective. The good news is that they will elect to read your email if you can gain and keep their attention. Winning today’s prospects is not an easy task, but it is doable. So, how do you write great emails for your campaign?

  • Before you write a word, be clear on the objective you want to attain. What is it that you want your reader to and why would he or she take that action.
  • Give great care to your subject line; you want to create strong curiosity in your reader. A good way to do that is to mention a problem your reader most likely has without mentioning the solution to that problem.
  • Keep the email focus on the problem the reader might have, and take the time to show that you understand thoroughly the problem.
  • Include a direct call to action at the end of the email that will be clearly recognized as the solution to the problem you exposed. Make sure there is no confusion in the mind of the reader in regard to what you expect him or her to do.
  • Your email probably won’t be read and the prospect will go directly to the end to see what you want. Include a P.S. after the call to action to remind the prospect why the action should be taken and give another call to action.
  • There are many mistakes to be avoided. While you are learning how to write, spend time studying some of the emails you receive and see what they did that turned you off. Make sure to learn from their mistakes.

It takes time and practice to be good at anything. Armed with patience and persistence, the more you study and test, the better you will become.
