How Do You Sell Using Email Marketing?
I recently received a series of interesting emails from a marketer. Now and then I’ll go and sign up on someone’s list so I can see what they are doing and how they are doing it. I am always looking for better answer to the question “How do you sell using email marketing?” I enter my information and the emails campaign begins.
Here’s what’s interesting about this email campaign; it took me going through several emails from his marketing campaigns to know what he was selling, and by then, I was really curious.
As most people, I was expecting a series of emails with the sole purpose of getting me to purchase something right away. If you have received email marketing lately, and you probably have, you most likely have developed a system to get pass all the dressings and find out what they really want.
So I scanned the first email I received quickly, looking for the link and what was written above and below. And off I went to the page, ready to learn more, and quickly too, about what he was selling and how much it cost. I don’t know about you but I noticed that most email marketing campaigns end the same way.
He wasn’t selling anything on that page, really nothing at all. Now I did not say he wasn’t selling anything, he just wasn’t selling anything where he had sent me. However, he has some interesting and funny information and video on that page. He got my attention, and the next day, I went back to see what else he had.
It took me a few days to find out about the product and by then, I got to say, I like the guy, even though I had no idea what he was selling. The best part is that, I could see him using this process over and over again, not just with new subscribers, but with me, without ever boring me.
