In Spite of everything that is said, cold calling is still a method widely used by many people. In some industries, it is even the only way to solicit new business. Nowadays many people try to only call those who have requested some information off their website.

Although these calls may seem to be warm calls at first look, they are not. Many people don’t recall requesting information and when their phone rings their defenses are high. You may not like cold calling. Unfortunately, in some industries, such as Network Marketing, there is no getting around talking to people.

If you want to succeed, you need to learn to be more effective on the phone. So, how can you warm up your cold calls? You can warm up your cold calls through reconditioning and knowledge.

Let’s take a look at knowledge. You are probably doing this already, and have studied many materials regarding selling and cold callings. Because we live in a fast-paced world, you will always need to keep on top of new development. Study should always be part of your life.

How Can You Warm Up Your Cold Calls?

Chances are though, that what you have been studying has not been very helpful and you are still very fearful of calling prospects, even though you know you must do it. The reason is because those materials have been conditioning you to prepare yourself for a tough battle when making calls. Unfortunately, war is damaging on the soul, even for the most skilled soldier.

You need to recondition your mind to make calls to find out if you there is a possibility for you to be of service to someone. This mean you must let go of the idea of making the sale and be willing to walk away when you recognize that there is no fit.

This is very new for a lot of people, because we have been thought to assume the sale. Unfortunately, this philosophy has us calling strangers and being obnoxious by assuming that we know what they want, even though we know nothing about them.

Nobody likes an arrogant person who is trying to convince you to buy his or her product. Change your mindset to call to see if the person has a need that you potentially can serve and people will welcome you and even thank you for calling.
