Do You Believe The Shortest Road to a Goal is a Straight Line?

Do you believe the shortest road to a goal is a straight line? If you do, did you know that on its way to the moon, the Apollo is off course 97% of the time? And yet it gets there. “Why? Because of continuous course correction,” Says Jeff Olson, author of the Slight Edge.
And as he continues, that means for you and I, to match the degree of accuracy of the Apollo is to be on course only 10 days of the entire year. I don’t know about you but it drives me crazy. You see, I like to know, feel in control, and be on track, all the time.
Yes I love having control over my life, and all entrepreneurs do. The one common characteristic to all entrepreneurs is a great need for control. That’s because we know that we have to create our own life, our own destiny and that if it’s going to be, it’s up to us.
Do You Believe The Shortest Road to a Goal is a Straight Line?
So we craft a vision, devise a strategy to turn it into goals, and come up with tactical plans to implement the strategy. Then we get off track. We get back on track and try a bit harder, just to fall off track again. Finally we seek advice and learn that we will be off track less than one day per month.
Yes sometimes, I feel like screaming. So I have learned to live with it; I get off track faster than it takes me to write this post. But in the process I have also learned something more valuable; the frustration I get for being off track is a powerful force to get me back on track and moving toward my goal.
No, the shortest road to your goal is not a straight line. But if you learn to correct your course, you will get there. Correcting your course is the slight edge that will take you where you are going. How do you do that?
You do every single day something towards your goal, no matter how you feel, no matter how off track you are. What you do is not as important as the fact that you do something. And if you really have no strength, then do this; express your lack of strength in a way that contributes to your goal.
No, I don’t always feel like writing, but then I write about how I don’t feel like writing and why. And when I do, I know I have engaged in course correction. I will back on track, just in time to get off again. And that is alright, because sooner than I expect, I will reach my goal. Just don’t ask me to draw the line.

What Keeps You Going?

If you have been in business for a while, then you know that at times the going gets though. What keeps you going? When you feel discouraged and unable to move another step? Yet you know you cannot stop for if you do you will be trampled down.
What keeps you going? When your heart has been broken one more time and you tell yourself everyone is right; you are probably just a dreamer who takes his wishes for reality. What makes you take that one more step and then the next?
Success is not easy, the road is bumpy. It’s amazing how dark it feels sometimes in the middle of a perfect summer day. It’s incredible how lonely it is even when surrounded by all our loved ones. The success road is a long and difficult one.
Yet you ask yourself; what else is there? What keeps you going? I don’t about you but for me, there is no alternative. Success is not a goal, it is the way I live my life. Success is not a dream it is how I define myself.
What else is there but to be successful? I know, many settle and give up because they believe it is easier that way. Yes being successful is not easy. But I also know why I have never considered giving up.
It is a lot easier to be successful than it is to fail. Once you have given up, you have all the rest of your life to live a life that you call mediocre. You see, once you embarked on the journey to become a better person, you agreed that it was unacceptable to live otherwise.
To give up without achieving that standard mean you will have to justify to yourself every single day of the rest of your life why it is acceptable to live a life less than what you can and deserve. You will have to explain to yourself for the rest of your life why it is ok to be a failure.
And that is very hard. So hard that no matter how hard it seems today to take another step into this dark and lonely world toward success, I will do it anyway. And I hope you to take it with me. For the road less travel if you and I the only road to travel.

What Can You Blog About For Network Marketing?
Blogging is the new trend and if you don’t have a blog yet, you are missing out. More than ever, network marketing is about relationship marketing. Blogging gives you the best opportunity to build those relationships with people all over the world.
As we discussed in How Can You Use Blogging For Network Marketing, you need a topic that’s valuable and relevant to your audience. Blogging is about providing information that readers consider worth their time and attention. Unless you can hold their interest, they will not stick around.
So, what can you blog about for network marketing? First identify who you want to attract. The best place to start is with your network marketing vision. Certainly you want to build a large organization, but what sets you apart?
What will be the values of that organization? Who are the people most likely to succeed when doing business with you? Look at what you are doing now and who you work best with. Do you want to attract people in your current profession?
What about the particular reason you joined? Did you have a traumatic situation that caused you to open a Network Marketing business? If so there might be others out there who can relate to you and share their experiences with you. Your background, your passions, your hobbies are best place to look for a target audience.
Once you have determined your target audience and what link you to them, it will be easy to find the topic you can share with them. For example, if you are an insurance sales agent, you can talk about the challenges of the profession to attract other sales agent. Or you can talk about insurance needs for couples to attract stay at home parents.
Before you start blogging, be clear on how you will tie your audience needs to your Network marketing opportunity. For example, stay at home parents might need an extra income to afford those insurance needs you have helped them identify. Or maybe building residual income can be a great complement to the limitations of some insurance policies.
Your goal is to build a relationship with your audience to the point where they will trust you and do or refer business to you. To be relevant your topic must be timely. To be valuable, it must address a specific need. To be profitable, it needs to tie into your business. Planning might take some time, but in the long run, it will save you more time.
